Lídia Cardoso, who was speaking in the context of the Coordinating Council of the institution held in Maputo under the theme: Sea, Catalyst of the Economy, Today and Forever, also said that the fisheries sector expects to catch, by 2024, six hundred and eighty-three thousand tonnes of fish across the country.
Of this target, 65 percent of the predicted amount of fish was achieved between 2019 and 2021.
The minister also explained that in 2023, the sector will focus its attention on the Blue Economy, fishing, aquaculture and surveillance, having considered that the sea is a source of wealth that needs to be better capitalised.
