President of the Republic inaugurates corn processing plant in Nampula

The unit is the result of private sector investment valued at around 130 million meticais.

The factory will annually produce about 26,000 tons of corn flour, which will allow it to absorb more than 60,000 tons of surplus corn from the population of Nampula province.

According to President Nyusi, more oil and bean processing plants may start operating later this year in Nampula province.

Thus, Filipe Nyusi hopes that the agriculture sector will again contribute to the growth of the economy by at least five percent annually.
