ARC fines Dugongo Cimentos 20,5 million meticals

According to a press release issued by ARC, Dugongo Cimentos has repeatedly failed to provide information requested since August last year.

The fact arises under the ongoing study on the calculation of costs involved in the production and distribution chain of clinker and construction cement, added to the analysis of criteria and methodologies for calculating sales prices, which already showed signs of anti-competitive practices in the construction cement sector, reads the document.

The document clarifies that the lack or provision of false, inaccurate or incomplete information in response to ARC requests constitutes an offence punishable by a fine not exceeding one percent of the previous year’s turnover, pursuant to the aforementioned article.

It should be noted that the ARC has powers of sanction and supervision of competition in the national industry, according to the Competition Law
