Eni confirms interest in more hydrocarbon exploration and production areas

Giorgio Vicini, general manager of Eni Rovuma Basin, operator of the Coral Sul FNLG project, confirmed in an interview to “Notícias” that his company is interested in the sixth tender launched by the National Petroleum Institute (INP), having been qualified in the first phase.

He explained that the company is now making technical evaluations to decide the areas for which it should bid.

“We are interested in the sixth tender organized by INP. Eni qualified as an operator in the first phase of the tender and now we are doing technical evaluations to choose the areas for which we will bid,” Giorgio Vicini assured, without, however, advancing the number of such areas.

Launched in November 2021, the Sixth Tender for the Concession of Hydrocarbon Exploration and Production Areas, had, according to INP data 13 companies competing, 12 of which were pre-qualified, six of which are operators and the remaining are non-operators.

As non-operating companies are listed RN Angoche PTE; Joint Stock Company Novatek; Qatar Petroleum Mozambique Limited; Sasol Africa (PTY), LTD; ONGC Videsh Limited; Discovery Exploration Limited.

According to the approved schedule, the disclosure of the results will be on November 30th of this year.
