Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH) is investing in its specialization in providing offshore drilling services in the area of exploration and production, thus reinforcing the state’s participation in the country’s oil and gas projects.
To this end, a shareholders’ agreement was signed on Friday in Maputo between ENH Exploration, an ENH special purpose vehicle, and Saipem International B.V., representing the Italian multinational services company SAIPEM.
As “Notícias” has learned, the mission of the company to be created will be to provide services based on the use of an offshore drilling platform, with the appropriate skills and an HSE (Hygiene, Health and Safety) project management system in Mozambique.
The company’s share capital is divided into 51 percent for ENH and 49 percent for Saipem, in a partnership valid for a period of eight years, renewable depending on the parties.
This project places ENH as the main operator in the provision of offshore drilling services, standing out in the domestic and regional market as one of the few players in this segment with its own capacity, contributing to strengthening the national economy.
The signing was witnessed by the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Carlos Zacarias, and the Chairman of ENH’s Board of Directors, Ludovina Bernardo.
ENH’s main assets are its stakes in oil and gas exploration and production concession contracts.
The company’s assets include assets and research equipment, natural gas processing and the entire associated complex, within a radius of about 850 kilometers linking Pande/Temane to the Secunda region in South Africa. This pipeline is fully managed and operated by ENH and the project partners.
On the distribution side, ENH is involved in distributing the cooking gas produced to the domestic market and other international markets, standing out as one of the benchmark companies in the energy sector in Mozambique.
