Mozambique and Angola Strengthen Cooperation on Local Content Integration in the Energy Sector

The National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency of Angola (ANPG) yesterday hosted a delegation from the Local Content Association of Mozambique (ACLM), led by its President, Elthon Chemane, in Luanda, in a strategic meeting aimed at promoting the strengthening of local content policies within the region’s energy sector.

The meeting served as a platform for sharing experiences between the two countries, with Mozambique presenting its main challenges and achievements in implementing measures to ensure greater participation of local companies and professionals in the oil and gas industry’s value chain.

For its part, Angola, through the ANPG, provided practical recommendations and success stories based on its extensive experience in the sector, reaffirming its commitment to supporting initiatives that drive sustainable development in Africa’s energy industry.

Among the topics discussed were strategies to maximize local participation in energy projects, effective regulatory mechanisms, incentives for the training of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and economic integration models adopted in the Angolan context.

Speaking at the end of the meeting, the ACLM President emphasized the importance of regional cooperation and the exchange of experiences among African countries in building an inclusive and sustainable energy industry. “Learning from Angola’s experience is essential for Mozambique to continue consolidating solid and effective local content policies,” said Elthon Chemane.

This meeting marks a significant step in strengthening institutional relations between Mozambique and Angola, as well as in fostering regional synergies for the growth and reinforcement of local content in the energy sector.
