BCI will participate in the 4th edition of Mozgrow, the largest meeting dedicated to potential operators in the agribusiness sector, and intends to present financing solutions for projects related to agriculture.
The agribusiness sector is crucial to the development of the national economy and access to financing, especially in the agricultural sector, is still a challenge.
At stake are several risks that hinder the injection of money by the bank in projects in the branch. To reverse the scenario, the BCI has created a financing line.
“BCI has been financing the agribusiness sector since 2001 in a specialized way. We have created a team to seek solutions outside the standard financing that the bank has available, this is because the financing lines for the productive sector present subsidized interest rates, which result from partnerships we have with other entities with the same purpose,” said Anésio Guambe, coordinator of the Specialized Business Office of BCI, quoted by País.
The bank, committed to agribusiness in Mozambique, will expose, in the fourth edition of Mozgrow, its products and services aimed at reducing the challenges of the sector.
“We have special credit lines designed and adjusted to the national context in terms of prices or interest rates. I’m referring to small producers, large companies, including for small and medium enterprises and associations,” says Guambe.
Aligned with the objective of consolidating the agriculture business in the country, the banking institution sees, in the largest national agribusiness fair, an opportunity to exchange ideas and financing solutions for the agribusiness sub-sector in Mozambique.
It should be noted that BCI announced, in 2018, the availability of 500 million Meticals, to finance national companies in the agribusiness sector.
