Employment market remained very fragile in Q4 2023

According to the 14th edition of the Business Robustness Index (BRI) Report, the market continued to be very fragile in the fourth quarter of 2023.

The trend in new jobs continued to be underpinned by part-time or temporary hires, whose rate fell to 30.6%. This trend is explained by the reduction in demand for labor in the agricultural sector, which outweighed the increase in the hotel and restaurant sector.

The CTA’s monitoring of business activity has shown that the state’s continuous accumulation of unpaid invoices to suppliers has also had an impact on this weak hiring of labor.
