In an international public tender, released a few days ago, IMOPETRO needs 150,000 Metric Tons (MT) of “Premium Unleaded” Gasoline, 25,000 MT of Jet and 400,000 MT of 50 ppm Diesel.
In the document, the Authority states that the tender will be governed by international public tender procedures similar to those specified in the World Bank guidelines and is open to all eligible bidders. Interested bidders will be required to purchase the specifications at a non-refundable price of USD 25,000.
Through Decree No. 45/2012 of December 28, IMOPETRO is the sole entity responsible for fuel imports in the country. According to the decree, the measure aims to reduce costs arising from the import and provide greater gain from the process. IMOPETRO currently has 29 fuel distribution companies in the country.
