The initiative has impacted the lives of more than 4,000 students, 200 teachers in more than 100 secondary schools in the city and province of Maputo and Gaza. This edition will, for the first time, include themes such as: basic principles on money laundering and environmental conservation.
The students will be challenged to design sustainable projects for their communities in light of the theme of conservation and preservation of the environment.
This year, the following Secondary Schools are participating in the banking olympics: Catembe Secondary School, Incassane Secondary School, Munhuana Secondary School, Aeroporto Secondary School, Malhampsene Secondary School, Matlemele Secondary School, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi Secondary School, Nelson Mandela Secondary School. Bonifácio Groveta Secondary School and Nkobe Secondary School.
The initiative is part of the social responsibility program “Mais Moçambique pra mim” and aims to contribute to the education and training of young Mozambicans through the introduction of banking and personal finance management concepts, which promote their financial inclusion in society.
