Mining and energy conference signals promising boost for Mozambique’s economic growth

The eagerly awaited 10th edition of the Mozambique Mining and Energy Conference (MMEC) has begun its countdown, promising to be a significant milestone in the country’s mining and energy industry. The prestigious event, considered the largest and oldest in the sector, is scheduled to take place on 17 and 18 April 2024 at the renowned Joaquim Chissano International Conference Centre in Maputo.
Under the theme “Partnerships for Prosperity: Unlocking Mozambique’s resources to promote national and regional economic growth”, MMEC 2024 is recognised as the premier platform for interaction between local, regional and international stakeholders. This event is vital for government officials, representatives of the extractive and power generation industries, offering a unique opportunity to explore industry opportunities, projects in the natural resources sector and consolidate business partnerships and investment agreements.
Organised by AME Mozambique in association with National Hydrocarbons Company (ENH) and supported by the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy (MIREME), MMEC 2024 follows in the footsteps of the successful 9th edition, inaugurated by His Excellency Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, President of the Republic of Mozambique, and distinguished international and regional participants.

The 10th edition is planned as a special celebration, recognising MMEC’s vital contribution over more than a decade to the development of Mozambique and the region. The event aims to surpass the heights previously achieved, further consolidating its position as one of the largest national, regional and global events bringing together the main players in the mining and energy sector.
