Portuguese PM in Maputo to attend V Luso-Moçambican Summit

Meanwhile, the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, receives today, Thursday (01), at 10:00 am, at the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, the Prime Minister of Portugal, António Costa.

A note from the Presidency of the Republic points out that the Portuguese Prime Minister’s visit to the country has as its highest point the participation in the 5th Bilateral Summit, which will take place under the theme: “Mozambique-Portugal: Strengthening the Strategic Partnership Towards Sustainable Development.

During the event, the leaders will exchange views on the political, economic and social situation of the two countries and their regions (SADC and the European Union), as well as review current international issues and of mutual interest, in the framework of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries and the United Nations, the document said.

According to the note, the two leaders will also witness the signing of legal instruments of bilateral cooperation and proceed with the opening of the Business Forum.
The Portuguese Prime Minister made his first visit to the country in 2018, having, on that occasion, participated in the Third Bilateral Summit.
