Sasol has delivered sports equipment to 22 teams in the Govuro Recreational Championship, covering all the communities in Inhambane province. The donation included materials such as jerseys, shorts, socks, stopwatches, whistles, boots, balls and gloves for goalkeepers, promising to enrich sports practice in the district.
The initiative was praised by the Govuro district administrator, Fernando Muzombigua, who highlighted the benefits for local youth, providing opportunities for healthy sports and leisure activities. The collaboration between Sasol, government entities and communities was emphasized by Henriques Faveca, a representative of the Govuro communities, as an example of a successful partnership in local development.
In addition, Sasol announced that the initiative will be extended to the district of Inhassoro, with future donations of additional sports equipment. These actions are part of a wider set of cultural and sporting initiatives supported by Sasol, including the sponsorship of the under-17 basketball championship and the Nova-Mambone Village Day celebrations. These efforts consolidate sport as a pillar of unity and cultural growth in the communities supported by Sasol in Inhambane.
