Tirupati Graphite appoints new project manager for Mozambique and Madagascar

Tirupati Graphite, a British company listed on the London Stock Exchange and specializing in graphite exploration and processing, has announced the appointment of Uday Singh as its new project manager for Mozambique and Madagascar. The decision is part of a wide-ranging internal restructuring process aimed at strengthening corporate governance and improving the company’s operational efficiency in the markets where it operates. The information was published by Engineering News.

Singh’s appointment comes at a strategic time, with Tirupati Graphite consolidating its presence in the mining sector in Africa. The company has bet heavily on Mozambique as one of its main points of expansion, given the growing global interest in graphite, an essential mineral in the production of lithium-ion batteries and various other industrial applications.

In addition to Singh, the company’s restructuring includes significant changes to the board of directors. Anthony James Nieuwenhuys has been appointed executive director and co-CEO, a position he will share with Shishir Poddar. The expectation is that this division of roles will prepare the company for a future complete transition of executive power. The company believes that these changes will help increase transparency in decision-making and strengthen the global business strategy.

Other important appointments include Harshit Poddar, who will take over leadership of the sales and marketing areas, and Alastair Bath, who will be responsible for special projects and corporate communications. The company is also in advanced negotiations to hire a new chief financial officer (CFO), who will be based in London, with the mission of ensuring greater control and supervision over the company’s financial structure.

These management changes come amid a process of internal transformation, which began after a group of shareholders, representing 5.8% of the company’s capital, requested an extraordinary general meeting. The aim was to challenge the previous administration and demand significant changes in the board’s leadership. The initiative resulted in the dismissal of the then chairman and the reformulation of senior management, now focused on adopting strict measures to improve corporate governance and optimize strategic decision-making.

Tirupati Graphite’s restructuring has a direct impact on its projects in Mozambique, a country where the company aims to expand its graphite mining operations. The mineral, which is increasingly valued in the technology and energy industries, is attracting significant investment in regions with great production potential. With the appointment of a dedicated project manager in the country, Tirupati Graphite is reinforcing its commitment to sustainable development and efficient resource management, in line with global market expectations.
