Agricultural sector stands out in the “Exporter of the Year Award” contest

Of the companies mentioned above, some specializing in banana production and others in tea, were unanimous in their advocacy for diversification of the Mozambican export sector.

The Exporter of the Year Award encourages and incentivizes exporting companies in Mozambique to continue to explore innovative ways to improve their regional export competitiveness and to export their products around the world as well as to the U.S. market using the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).

USAID Mission Director Helen Pataki, accompanied by Minister of Industry and Commerce Silvino Augusto José Moreno, Governor of Maputo Province Julio Parruque, and other partners, recognized the continued successes of Mozambican exporters in 2022.

This was the second edition of this event, a collaboration between the U.S. Government, the Investment and Export Promotion Agency (APIEX), and the Confederation of Mozambican Business Associations (CTA).
