A set of reforms is underway to industrialize the country

Ludovina Bernardo, revealed that the Executive is aware of the importance of a strong industry to reduce dependence. Speaking to the television station STV during the opening of the fair, the governor pointed to England as an example, which stopped being a mere exporter of raw materials to become an industrially advanced country.

“To achieve such a design, it has set in motion a series of legislation to protect and support domestic industries from foreign competition and, above all, for the improvement of the business environment as a major factor,” said Ludovina Bernardo.

The deputy minister explains that in the context of our country, the path “for industrialization is called the National Industrialize Mozambique Program, which aims to give focus to inclusive rural development” through expanding market opportunities for agricultural producers.

“Equally, the program aims to diversify the country’s economic structure, improve the trade balance through imports and adding value to domestic products, transformed into differentiated products of high value,” she added.

The governor recognizes that the industry needs international standard infrastructure, bets on local content, the grouping of industries and the betting on laboratories for the advancement of agribusiness in the country.
