Menzies Aviation expands its presence in Africa with new cargo facilities in Mozambique

Menzies Aviation,  the world’s leading service partner for airports and airlines, has announced the official opening of its new cargo facility at Maputo International Airport (MPM) in Mozambique.
The state-of-the-art facility means that Menzies can now service air cargo at MPM, increasing cargo capacity to and from Mozambique. This achievement represents a significant expansion of Menzies’ presence in East Africa, with the company’s regional client portfolio set to grow in the coming months and years.
With high-quality infrastructure and state-of-the-art technology, the new cargo warehouse enables Menzies to offer high-quality, efficient and secure services to airlines, including pioneering clients Airlink and Qatar Airways.
The warehouse was officially inaugurated at a ceremony on Thursday, September 5, where Menzies’ Senior Vice President of Cargo (MEAA), AlAnood AlSuwaidi, joined representatives from Mozambique Airports, E.P., the Civil Aviation Institute, Mozambique Customs and partner airlines.

Menzies Aviation has been present at Maputo International Airport since 2018, operating as NAS – National Aviation Services until 2022. Initially, the company was responsible for operating exclusive, contemporary lounges in the airport’s international and domestic terminals and later, in 2019, expanded its portfolio to provide Meet and Assist services and ground handling at Mozambique’s busiest airport.
AlAnood AlSuwaidi, Senior Vice President Cargo (MEAA), Menzies Aviation, said: “We are delighted with the inauguration of our new cargo warehouse in Mozambique. This state-of-the-art facility will enable us to provide the best services to our airline customers, while supporting the East African air cargo sector. This step represents a breakthrough in Menzies’ cargo expansion strategy, which has increased its presence around the world.”
