African startups invited to apply for Kofi Annan prize

The Austrian Federal Chancellery and the Kofi Annan Foundation are accepting applications for the Kofi Annan Award for Innovation in Africa (KAAIA), an initiative that aims to highlight innovative technological solutions that contribute to eradicating hunger across the African continent.

The award is open to start-ups with a proven business model and a demonstrated social impact. The selected companies will have the opportunity to present their business plans, with the aim of increasing their impact and benefiting as many Africans as possible.

According to the Disrupt Africa portal, KAAIA aims to raise awareness of the potential of African entrepreneurs to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, the prize aims to support technological solutions and approaches that are helping to improve food security and systems in African countries.

Applications for the KAAIA Prize close on February 8th, offering a unique opportunity for African startups to highlight their innovations and contribute to a more sustainable and prosperous future for the entire continent.
