Bolloré Africa Logistics introduces new corporate identity

Bolloré Africa Logistics – a company dedicated to international transportation and logistics – has presented its new brand, and will now operate under the name AGL, which stands for Africa Global Logistics.

With this new brand, AGL affirms its ambition within the MSC Group to continue contributing to the sustainable transformation of Africa and emerging markets, thanks to its global, customized and innovative logistics solution.

Since its creation in 1985, at the initiative of the Mozambican government to boost the maritime sector, Africa Global Logistics Mozambique has grown significantly, covering a vast territory from Rovuma to Maputo and from Zumbo to the Indian Ocean. AGL, which represents decades of logistics experience in Africa and Mozambique, is embarking on a new adventure with the launch of its brand, symbolizing a significant chapter

With around 23,000 employees across the continent, including 900 in Mozambique, AGL is diversifying its activities, focusing on international transit, distribution of medicines in partnership with the Ministry of Health, and logistics solutions for the energy production sector, as well as experience in Aid and Emergency, FMCG, Mining and Telecommunications, to name a few. Committed to investing in infrastructure, AGL aims to improve the country’s logistics environment. The company stresses the importance of investing in training young people, both academically and professionally, exemplified by the partnership with the European Union and the Chamber of Commerce of France and Mozambique in 2023.

AGL recognizes the crucial role of digitalization in logistics and invests in cutting-edge solutions to improve efficiency and customer service. The acquisition and rebranding provide an opportunity to focus on future opportunities, corridor development, increased intra-regional exchanges and the application of digital technologies to logistics, with a commitment to vocational training for young people.

AGL Mozambique held a celebration of the new brand and corporate values at an exclusive cocktail event held on January 31, together with clients, suppliers, institutions and dedicated employees. This event served as an important occasion to celebrate the new identity and reinforce its unwavering commitment to the growth of the sector.

By reiterating its dedication to the logistics sector and embracing the motto “At the heart of Africa’s transformation” in 2024, the emphasis is on AGL as a key player in driving positive change across the continent. The cocktail event provided an excellent opportunity for work and collaboration, fostering stronger relationships and showcasing the benefits of a renewed focus on innovation, sustainability and the continuous provision of customized logistics solutions that contribute to the ongoing transformation of Africa’s emerging markets.
