Businessman Danilo Adamo, delegate of the Mozambique Chamber of Commerce (CCM) in Maputo province, foresees a bright future for the national economy, especially with the resumption of support from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Danilo Adamo says that despite the country having been affected by several phenomena such as: the cyclones Idai, Keneth (which devastated infrastructures), and the Covid-19 pandemic that reduced the cycling of people and goods thus retracting the business environment, he is optimistic with the work that is being done by the Government and his agency.
“I am optimistic in what is a bright future for Mozambique. And with the work that we are doing even at the level of our Chamber of Commerce and the message that we are transmitting to our members, and that we have a country with open doors and great opportunities,” revealed Danilo Adamo.
The price of fuel has risen twice in less than six months and may suffer a further increase in the coming days, despite the fact that the Government has put a stop to this possibility. The businessman says that this increase will negatively affect the national economy, and it is necessary to protect the consumers and adopt correct policies so that the situation does not affect the common citizen’s pocket.
“This will have a very big impact, it is another phenomenon that appears, and it is necessary to call the attention of those who make the laws, because it is possible to create barriers so that this does not reach the public sector. We have reached a stage where it is time to start looking at what is a little bit of consumer protection,” Adamo said.
