Ding Sheng Minerals, SA, bets on hiring young people from Gaza

The Chinese company Ding Sheng Minerals, SA, which operates the Chibuto heavy sands mine in the southern province of Gaza, is committed to promoting local employment, especially among young people in the region. The company intends to hire young people to work in various areas necessary for the mining operation, as part of its commitment to local development.

The company representative made this commitment during the launch of the “Mobile Employment Desk” program, carried out by the National Employment Institute, highlighting its support for the government’s efforts to create conditions to promote youth employment in the province. Some young people will already have the opportunity to benefit from pre-professional internships.

Ding Sheng Minerals also revealed plans to carry out its first shipment by sea in August, once the construction of the Chongoene dock is completed, which is expected soon. The dock will be used to dock vessels and facilitate the export of heavy sands from Chibuto to various countries, avoiding the high costs of transportation by road to the Port of Maputo.

Since 2018, Ding Sheng Minerals has been operating in Chibuto, processing 10,000 tons of sand a day. With a 25-year concession, the company plans to extract one million tons of ilmenite annually, as well as heavy sands, thus contributing to the economic development of the region and the country.
