Economic Climate Indicator rises in the third quarter

“The ICEE registered a slight increase in the third quarter” compared to the previous quarter and in line with the “recovery that began in the fourth quarter of 2021,” reads the INE bulletin.

The “favorable behavior” was influenced “by the prospects of rising employment and future demand.

According to the “Letter from Mozambique,” the favorable assessment of the economic climate was due to “the positive assessment in the trade and services sectors,” while entrepreneurs in the industrial production sector revised their activities “downwards” compared to the previous quarter.

The ICEE is part of the Confidence Indicators and Economic Climate Bulletin a publication on Mozambique’s conjuncture, compiled based on a survey conducted by INE to companies in the non-financial sector.

“The study expresses the opinion of economic agents about the evolution and outlook for their activity, particularly on employment, demand, orders, prices, production, sales and limitations on activity,” explains the Mozambican statistical authority.
