Electricity of Mozambique (EDM) to invest 20 million dollars in digital transformation

Electricity of Mozambique (EDM) has announced its intention to invest 20 million dollars in implementing the second phase of its Digital Strategy 2023-28. The aim of this strategy is to establish processes and technological solutions that will enable EDM to operate in an integrated, intelligent and constantly changing way.

During the launch ceremony held on Monday, December 18, Marcelino Alberto, Chairman of EDM’s Board of Directors, highlighted the importance of digital transformation for competitiveness and for meeting the growing needs of customers in real time. Alberto emphasized the need to speed up processes in the face of advances in information and communication technologies.

The first phase of the Digital Strategy focused on implementing Business Intelligence and a Corporate Performance Management System. These were aimed at improving decision-making based on historical corporate data and automating business processes by monitoring performance in real time.

EDM currently has a solution that extends the dematerialization of internal documents, enabling globally accessible online processing. In addition, the Incident Management and Fault Reporting System was highlighted, an application that seeks to serve and care for customers in real time, raising the quality of the services offered.

With the completion of the first phase, EDM seeks to reinvent the Digital Strategy, making it a dynamic document that updates and innovates corporate procedures, demonstrating its commitment to evolving with the demands of the technological landscape and providing high-quality services to clients.
