First Niassa Investment Forum approves funding for 30 projects

Organized by the Niassa government and its partners, the Economic Forum held last Friday made thirty (30) development projects possible, which will be financed by national and foreign players. To make them a reality, 42 million dollars are needed, mobilized by the Mozambican Chamber of Commerce, as well as funding from the African Development Bank (AfDB).

The ADB’s resident director in Mozambique, César Augusto Abogo, said that the financial institution is open to training economic agents in the light of its new strategy to boost development in Niassa.

The projects in the spotlight concern soybean, macadamia and wheat production, the financing for which will allow for increased production, processing and marketing.

The Secretary of State, Lina Portugal, and the governor of Niassa, Elina Massangele, guaranteed that they will do everything they can to make all the projects viable, providing all kinds of support to local and foreign businesses to make the investments a reality.
