Foreign minister represents Mozambique at summits in Uganda

Ministra dos negócios estrangeiros representa Moçambique em cimeiras no Uganda

The Mozambican Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Verónica Macamo, will be in the Republic of Uganda to take part in the 19th Summit of Heads of State and Government of non-aligned countries and the 3rd Summit of the Group of 77 + China, events that will take place from the 19th to the 22nd of this month.

According to an official statement, the minister will hold several bilateral meetings and will also meet with the Mozambican community living in Uganda during her stay in the country. Mozambique’s participation in these summits is especially relevant due to the country’s current second term as a non-permanent member of the United Nations (UN) Security Council. This context offers the opportunity for Mozambique to interact with various entities and influence debates on high-level issues.

The Group of 77 + China is a collision of developing nations whose aim is to promote the collective economic interests of its members and strengthen their joint negotiating capacity at the UN.

The presence of Minister Verónica Macamo at these summits highlights Mozambique’s commitment to international relations and its active role in the global arena.
