Government intends to prioritize industrialization by capitalizing on local raw materials, says Prime Minister

Governo pretende priorizar industrialização através da capitalização de matérias-primas locais, afirma Primeiro-Ministro

The Prime Minister of Mozambique, Adriano Maleiane, emphasized the importance of capitalizing on local raw materials to boost the country’s industrialization and achieve rapid economic growth. He made these statements during his participation in the Dialogue on Prosperity in Africa, held in Accra, the capital of Ghana, last Saturday (27).

Maleiane reaffirmed Mozambique’s commitment to implementing measures and actions that promote an increase in national industrial production, with a focus on using local raw materials and encouraging an increase in trade, especially with African countries. He stressed that strengthening trade ties between African nations will contribute to the consolidation of the African Continental Free Trade Area and to achieving the goals of African Agenda 2063.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of a solid partnership between the continent’s business sector and financial institutions, believing that this will promote and strengthen economic and trade relations. He highlighted the need for a more vibrant involvement of the business sector and national, regional and international financial institutions to boost investment in technologies and innovation.

Maleiane concluded by emphasizing the need to create solid and secure foundations for increased production and industrialization in Africa, through the valorization of raw materials.

These statements by the Prime Minister reflect Mozambique’s commitment to promoting sustainable industrial development, using the country’s natural resources to boost economic growth and strengthen trade relations within the African continent.

It is hoped that this approach, which prioritizes the capitalization of local raw materials, will contribute significantly to Mozambique’s economic growth and to the accelerated development of Africa as a whole.

Maleiane’s participation in the Africa Prosperity Dialogue reinforces the leading role that Mozambique is seeking to play on the African economic scene, promoting regional cooperation and sustainable development through industrialization and intra-continental trade.
