III Investment Conference: Inhambane wants to promote economic diversification

Inhambane Province, known for its vast tourist potential along its 700 km of coastline, is looking to expand its economic activities beyond tourism. Amosse Macamo, the province’s Secretary of State, highlighted the importance of economic diversification and the implementation of impactful projects during the opening of the III Provincial Investment Conference.

Macamo highlighted the projects underway, including natural gas exploration, electricity production and road infrastructure construction, aimed at boosting socio-economic development. He stressed that the infrastructure sector plays a vital role in boosting provincial development.

During the conference, the Secretary of State expressed his intention to develop a common vision on investments in various sectors, such as tourism, mining, agriculture and fishing, among others.

For his part, Abdul Razack, representative of the Inhambane Business Council, challenged local entrepreneurs to be proactive, highlighting the favorable conditions in the province for economic development. Razack mentioned advantages such as a high rate of drinking water, electricity in all district headquarters, the presence of international airports in Vilankulo and Inhambane, as well as the province’s connection to the EN1.

The III Investment Conference, held under the slogan “Inhambane Developing Value Chains to Boost Local Production, Employment and Consumption”, highlights the commitment of the province to the development of the economy.
