Mozgrow: Mozambique should invest in technological development

As part of the third panel, which had as theme “local dynamics of agribusiness development”, the administrator of Marracuene, Shafee Sidat, sold the potentialities of his district, as well as addressed the challenges they have.

Shafee Sidat, said that the district he heads is encouraging the creation of cooperatives, as a way to allow farmers to access the support that the district government has made available.

With enormous potential in agriculture, especially in rice and vegetable production, Marracuene is tending to take significant steps with a view to improving agribusiness.

“A company is already under construction that will absorb all the farmers’ production. Everything indicates that this factory unit may start operating next December,” assures Sidat, who also explained that this factory will not only absorb the production, but will also process and place it in the national and international market.
