Vítor Bandeira has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Fidelidade Moçambique, assuming executive leadership of the insurance company effective immediately. This appointment follows the General Assembly held on March 28, during which the new corporate bodies of Fidelidade Moçambique were elected for the 2025–2027 triennium, leading to the Board of Directors appointing the new Executive Committee.
Bandeira succeeds Carlos Leitão, who led the company for the past 10 years. Fidelidade Moçambique expresses its profound gratitude to the outgoing Executive Committee for their work, strategic vision, and resilience demonstrated throughout their tenure, which significantly contributed to the company’s growth and consolidation in the Mozambican insurance market.
At 60 years old, Vítor Bandeira holds a degree in Management, with postgraduate studies in Communication and Marketing, as well as in Risk Management and Assessments. He boasts a 37-year career in the insurance sector. Prior to assuming the presidency of the Executive Committee at Fidelidade Moçambique, he served as CEO of GEP – Gestão de Peritagens, S.A., in Portugal. Throughout his professional journey, Bandeira has accumulated extensive experience in various commercial and insurance business areas, distinguishing himself through his strategic insight and leadership capabilities.
In recent years, Fidelidade Moçambique has achieved significant milestones, including the integration of the Fidelidade and Ímpar brands, resulting in the creation of the Fidelidade Ímpar brand. Other notable achievements encompass the inauguration of the new headquarters in one of Maputo’s prime areas, featuring modern and functional facilities that reflect the company’s identity and values; the opening of two new branches in Maputo and Pemba; and the 2023 certification by Great Place to Work, the most prestigious international award recognizing the insurer’s commitment to employee well-being. Another significant milestone is Fidelidade Moçambique’s status as the only Mozambican insurer with a high international financial strength rating (Financial Strength Rating – FSR), awarded by the rating agency AM Best.
