Mozambique is among the nine African countries selected to receive funding of 5.5 billion euros from the Italian government. This initiative, announced by Italian Prime Minister Gegorgia Meloni during the Italy-Africa summit, aims to support development in various areas.
The funding, part of the Mattei plan for Africa, will be directed towards physical and digital infrastructure, vocational training, health, water and energy, job promotion, actions to combat climate change and terrorism. The expectation is that these investments will contribute significantly to the growth and stability of these countries.
In addition to Mozambique, countries such as Kenya, Tunisia, Congo and Morocco are also among the beneficiaries of this funding. According to Meloni, the results of the projects implemented in these countries could serve as a model for other nations, adapting to the specific needs of each one.
This initiative reflects the Italian government’s commitment to strengthening relations and promoting sustainable development in Africa, seeking partnerships that can boost economic and social progress throughout the region.
