Esselina Macome is a highly qualified professional with a diverse background in academia, finance, and technology.
She holds a PhD in Information Technology from the University of Pretoria (2003), a Master’s degree in Analysis, Design, and Management of Information Systems from the University of London (1992), and a Bachelor’s degree with distinction in Mathematics Education (1987) from Paedagogische Hochschule Dresden.
Currently, Esselina Macome serves as an Associate Professor at Eduardo Mondlane University and holds the positions of Chairperson of the Board of Directors at Standard Bank S.A. and Executive Director of Financial Sector Deepening Mozambique (FSDMOç).
With extensive experience in the financial sector, she previously served as an Executive Director and Board Member of the Bank of Mozambique from 2005 to 2015.
Additionally, she has held various other leadership roles, further showcasing her vast expertise and commitment to excellence.
Her areas of interest include development, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), women’s issues, and Digital Financial Services (DFS).
