Marlene de Sousa: Founder of HR Breakfast and the Most Followed Professional on LinkedIn in Mozambique

Marlene de Sousa is a Mozambican entrepreneur passionate about people management, recognized as the most followed professional on LinkedIn in Mozambique, according to the list of “Top 10 Most Followed Mozambicans in 2025” released by TopFloor Influencers Mz. She is the founder of Atittude, a human resources consultancy specializing in recruitment and training, operating in Mozambique and Angola, and also providing recruitment support for clients in other African countries.

Additionally, Marlene is the author of the e-book “Mundo RH em Moçambique − As Pessoas e as Suas Histórias” (“HR World in Mozambique − The People and Their Stories”), a collection of narratives about human resources management in the country. In 2020, she launched the first Human Resources Directory in the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP), gathering information about companies, training programs, events, and HR consultants across these countries.

Demonstrating her commitment to the sector’s development, Marlene founded and leads initiatives such as the HR Forum Angola, HR Forum Cabo Verde, People Management Forum Mozambique, and HR Breakfast Angola and Mozambique. In 2018, she established the first HR Association in Mozambique.

A dedicated academic, Marlene graduated in International Relations, inspired by her grandfather. Later, following her passion and career goals, she completed a postgraduate degree in Human Rights and a Master’s in Human Resources from the University of Lisbon.

Currently, Marlene resides in Angola, the country that marked the beginning of the international expansion of her projects, with plans to extend her operations to other markets in the coming years. Her central motivation is to contribute to the development of people in Africa, placing the best professionals in the job market.
