+EMPREGO campaign reaches around 800 young people in Cabo Delgado

A workshop on Social and Environmental Responsibility and Corporate Governance was held this Tuesday, November 21, in Maputo City, run by CTA and the + EMPREGO project, supported by the European Union and co-financed and managed by Camões IP.

The “Empresa +Emprego” Campaign launched in 2021 in partnership with INEP and the ILO aims to promote the visibility of Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) with a presence in Cabo Delgado that value the qualification and employability of young people in the province, taking a stance of corporate social responsibility in this area.

The Campaign also aims to promote decent work, boosting sustainable development and social inclusion, based on local partnerships, reducing inequalities and eradicating poverty.

On the occasion, the Director General of the National Employment Institute (INEP) said that the program had benefited around 800 young Mozambicans aged 15 to 25, trainees and graduates of professional education, 25% of whom were women.

By the end of the action, at least 50% of the final beneficiaries should be employed or have created their own jobs. Also to be trained and certified are 35 micro, small and medium-sized entrepreneurs in the natural gas industry value chain, with operations in Cabo Delgado, 150 managers and technical teams at central, provincial and local level in the partner ministries and 250 directors, managers, teachers, trainers, training and employment technicians.

It should be noted that Mais Emprego 1 ends in 2024, but there is already a strong likelihood that + Emprego 2 will start in 2024.
