EDM launches phone line to reduce fault repair times

Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM) announced the launch of a new telephone line for reporting faults, during FACIM 2024, with the aim of reducing the average time taken to repair faults, currently estimated at three hours. The information was announced by Joaquim Ou-Chim, Chairman of EDM’s Board of Directors, during the company’s 47th anniversary celebrations.

In addition to the new telephone line, Ou-Chim highlighted the reinforcement of picket teams as one of the measures EDM is adopting to improve the response to breakdowns, with the aim of increasing efficiency and customer satisfaction. According to him, the line will allow for more direct and faster communication, enabling intervention teams to be called immediately.

“The introduction of this telephone line is part of a series of initiatives we are implementing to reduce response times and improve customer service,” said Ou-Chim.

Integration with social networks and automated responses

EDM’s new customer service system will also integrate the use of social networks, giving customers faster access to the company’s services. The implementation of automated responses is one of the strategies to speed up the service process and ensure that customer requests are dealt with efficiently.

“Our aim is to offer a service that meets the needs of our clients, ensuring that communication with EDM is easier and more accessible, whether by phone or on digital platforms,” added EDM’s president.

FACIM 2024: a showcase of opportunities

FACIM 2024 is taking place at the Ricatla International Fair and Exhibition Centre, in the Marracuene district of Maputo province, and its theme is “Industrialization: Innovation and Diversification of the National Economy”. The event, which takes place from August 26 to September 1, aims to showcase Mozambique’s potential in production and exports, as well as promoting business and investment opportunities in various economic sectors.

This year, the fair will be attended by 2,300 national exhibitors and 650 foreign exhibitors from 25 countries, spread over more than ten pavilions and free spaces. FACIM 2024 brings together representatives from all economic sectors, including associations, public and private companies, reinforcing its role as a platform for promoting investment and innovation in Mozambique.
