Eni strengthens agricultural value chain in Mozambique with vegetable oil production

Eni fortalece cadeia de valor agrícola em Moçambique com produção de óleo vegetal

Eni has started producing vegetable oil that will be used as raw material in Eni’s biorefineries, as part of its strategy to decarbonize transport and contribute to sustainable mobility.

The vegetable oil is extracted from by-products of local agro-processing plants certified under the ISCC-EU scheme, guaranteeing traceability and respect for the environment and human rights, as well as avoiding changes in land use.

ERB plans to continue developing the project in Mozambique, involving thousands of local farmers and promoting socio-economic development in rural areas and the regeneration of degraded agricultural land.

Eni has been present in Mozambique since 2006 and is the delegated operator of the Coral Sul project, the first to produce gas in the Rovuma Basin.
