Galp Moçambique is sponsoring the first edition of the LPG Expo in Maputo, which takes place on April 17th and 18th. The exhibition puts Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) at the center of discussions on sustainable and safe energy alternatives.
According to a statement released by Diário Económico on Tuesday (16), the event reflects Galp’s commitment to sustainable development by promoting the replacement of biomass with less polluting energy sources. The use of LPG represents a significant step forward in improving air quality and protecting the environment, reducing dependence on coal and firewood, which still predominate in Mozambican homes.
Galp’s investment in LPG not only promotes public health, but also seeks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat deforestation. The company has made strategic investments in the LPG value chain over the years.
At the event, which is considered the most influential in the sector in the southern region of the African continent, Galp will demonstrate the versatility of its offer and its investment in innovation. Highlights in the company’s portfolio include the new Pluma bottles, which are considerably lighter than the traditional ones, and the Pluma Inteligente, which, connected to a mobile app, allows for more effective control of consumption.
“With this initiative, which is taking place in Mozambique for the first time, we want to show the diversity and innovation of our services.
It is an opportunity to solidify our presence in the market and reinforce our commitment to sustainable development,” said Paulo Varela, CEO of Galp Mozambique.
The first edition of LPG Expo in Southern Africa promises to be a decisive event for the future of the LPG market, bringing together more than 40 exhibitors and around two thousand regional participants, with the aim of promoting new opportunities and trends in the energy sector.
