Ignite Power and SIMA Funds strengthen partnership for solar energy in Mozambique

Ignite Power, a leading company in solar energy solutions in Africa, has announced an expansion of its collaboration with SIMA Funds Mozambique for the development of solar electrification projects in the country. This strategic partnership aims to accelerate the deployment of clean and affordable energy solutions in underserved communities, offering reliable, sustainable and accessible energy to millions of people.

SIMA Funds plays a key role in Ignite Power’s mission to provide access to sustainable energy for Mozambican communities. In 2023, 50,000 homes were successfully connected, directly impacting the lives of 250,000 people and consolidating the company’s position as the leading provider of off-grid solar energy.

Arthur Houston, managing director of Ignite Mozambique, pointed out that the new partnership will allow the company to expand its operations and presence in the national territory, contributing to an inclusive and sustainable future. He pointed out that off-grid solar home systems have proven to be the most sustainable, affordable and scalable solution for large-scale rural electrification projects, and thanked SIMA for sharing these values and supporting this mission.
