Norwegian payments company SOFTEC is studying the Mozambican market with the aim of introducing a new payments service, which will bring together all other methods on a single mobile platform. SOFTEC, a fintech that develops financial solutions in several European countries, is looking to offer a more complete and integrated service, covering both traditional and mobile banking.
The company’s CEO, Frank Karlsen, is in the country to study the market and familiarize himself with Mozambican legislation on the financial sector. He noted that a large part of the Mozambican population is interested in technology, which is an important step since the service is exclusively based on cell phones and the internet.
Karlsen stressed the importance of keeping up with the digitalization trend, especially considering that the main tourists visiting the country come from highly digitalized economies, where the use of cash or payment cards is less common. SOFTEC is looking to offer more modern services to meet this growing demand for innovative payment solutions.
