PROMOVE Comércio Project and the Ministry of Industry and Trade Train Managers in Compliance with UNIDO Standards.

PROMOVE Comércio Project and the Ministry of Industry and Trade Train Managers in Compliance with UNIDO Standards.

The training will take place on February 29 in Maputo, on a hybrid basis – face-to-face and virtual, and will bring together around 25 participants. The training aims to train technicians from public and private institutions in the Foreign Trade Ecosystem at national level in the use of the UNIDO standards tool and to raise awareness of quality compliance.

It should be noted that Mozambique’s active participation in international trade requires the implementation and use of tools such as Standards Compliance Analytics (SCA), which aims to facilitate the use of rejection data to identify the main compliance challenges faced by exporting countries, with a view to improving the targeting of investments in building relevant compliance capacities.

Thus, the development of a quality compliance ecosystem requires training institutions in the field of strategic instruments, which justifies this training, with the following objectives:

i) Explore global trends according to world standards, challenges and the performance of exporting countries.
ii) Compare the performance of neighboring or partner countries in different markets, products, specific compliance challenges.
iii) Evaluate the performance of exporting countries in specific markets.

The PROMOVE Trade-Moz project is implemented by UNIDO with funds from the European Union to promote export competitiveness.
