World Bank funds electrification in Mozambique with 35 million dollars

The World Bank is financing the implementation of PRO-ENERGIA, a project to electrify neighborhoods and expansion areas in the cities of Nampula, Nacala-Porto and Angoche in Mozambique, with around 35 million US dollars.

Of the total, 12 million dollars are being invested in electrification works for ten administrative posts in Nampula province, with disbursements in phases until 2030.

The director of the Customer Service Area of the Mozambique Electricity Company (EDM) in Nampula, Cristiano Neves, said that the electrification works at the Olúzi and Calipo administrative posts in the Mogovolas district and Nihessiue in Murrupula, which are covered by PRO-ENERGIA, will be completed this year.

Neves also pointed out that the electrification of the ten administrative posts is progressing at a good pace.
