Portugal lidera as importações moçambicanas com origem na UE

Medicamentos, reagentes para diagnóstico e laboratório, trigo, centeio e materiais de construção são os principais produtos portugueses a chegar à costa do Índico num total de cerca de 230 milhões de euros em 2020.

No sentido inverso, mais de metade do que Portugal compra à Moçambique são mariscos, com um total de 22 milhões de euros em 2020, sexto entre os países da UE de destino das exportações moçambicanas.

V Cimeira Moçambique-Portugal

A anterior cimeira entre os dois países foi em 2019 e na altura Filipe Nyusi defendeu o reforço das relações económicas com Portugal. Nyusi, pediu ainda a formação e investimento na transformação das matérias-primas do país, para as valorizar.

O Primeiro-Ministro de Portugal, António Costa e o Presidente da República, Filipe Nyusi lideram as delegações na V Cimeira Moçambique-Portugal, marcada para hoje, em Maputo.

O fórum de negócios entre os dois países vai decorrer na sexta-feira, durante a Feira Internacional de Maputo (FACIM), a maior mostra de negócios do país, igualmente com a presença de Nyusi e Costa.

Pedro Carvalho guarantees the continuity of Absa Bank’s growth

In a statement, Pedro Carvalho assumes that it is with great honor and sense of responsibility that he embraces the challenge of leading one of the most relevant financial institutions in the Mozambican market.

“We will continue our journey of growth with the mission of serving our customers, always striving to provide more value, while committed to the principles of sustainability, in its environmental, social and governance aspects, being a force for good in our society,” he added.

Carvalho also mentioned that the success of Absa Bank Mozambique comes from the passion for what the institution does, the high level of readiness of the team, and the courage with which they face the opportunities and challenges that arise daily.

Absa’s new CEO ended by thanking Rui Barros, who left the position yesterday, for his unique leadership, dedication, and camaraderie.

“During the last eight years, Rui Barros was the helmsman of the bank’s transformation process, materializing all the commitments defined by the shareholders and the Board of Directors,” he appreciated.

Carvalho referiu ainda que o sucesso do Absa Bank Moçambique vem da paixão pelo que a instituição faz, do elevado nível de prontidão da equipa, e da coragem com que enfrentam as oportunidades e desafios que surgem diariamente.

O novo Administrador Delegado do Absa terminou agradecendo a Rui Barros, que deixou o cargo ontem, pela sua liderança única, dedicação, e camaradagem.

“Durante os últimos oito anos, o Rui Barros foi o timoneiro do processo de transformação do banco, materializando todos os compromissos definidos pelos accionistas e pelo Conselho de Administração”, apreciou.

Why invest in the Zambezi Valley: Platform launched at FACIM answers

The Director of the Services of Studies and Strategic Analysis of the institution, José Cardoso, also said that the Zambezi Valley Investment Portal contains information inherent to the legislation, fiscal incentives, among others of general interest.

The launching ceremony of this platform took place at the Zambezi Valley Pavilion, as part of the largest business exhibition of the country, FACIM, which is being held at the International Fair and Exhibition Center of Ricatla, in the district of Marracuene, Maputo.

Zambezi Valley invests 200 million in seven factories

At the occasion, the Director of the Services of Studies and Strategic Analysis of Zambezi Valley referred that the institution has invested 200 million of Meticals in the implantation of seven plants of rice and fruits processing in the provinces of Zambezia, Sofala and Manica.

According to Jose Cardoso, this investment is a result of the financing lines that the agency was able to mobilize aiming at dynamizing the agro-processing.

Cardoso also explained that some of the factories are already operating and others are in the process of implementation, with an installed capacity of 7500 tons each.

O Director dos Serviços de Estudos e Análises Estratégicas da instituição, José Cardoso, avançou ainda que o Portal de Investimentos do Vale do Zambeze contém informações inerentes à legislação, incentivos fiscais, entre outras de interesse geral.

A cerimónia de lançamento desta plataforma teve lugar no Pavilhão do Vale do Zambeze, no âmbito da realização da maior mostra de negócios do país, FACIM, que decorre no Centro Internacional de Feiras e Exposições de Ricatla, no distrito de Marracuene, Maputo.

Vale do Zambeze investe 200 milhões em sete fábricas

Na ocasião, o Director dos Serviços de Estudos e Análises Estratégicas do Vale do Zambeze referiu que ainda que a instituição investiu 200 milhões de meticais na implantação de sete fábricas de processamento de arroz e frutas nas províncias da Zambézia, Sofala e Manica.

De acordo com José Cardoso, este investimento é resultado das linhas de financiamento que a agência conseguiu mobilizar visando dinamizar o agro-processamento.

Cardoso explicou ainda que algumas das fábricas já se encontram em funcionamento e outras em processo de implantação, com uma capacidade instalada de 7500 toneladas cada.

Portuguese PM in Maputo to attend V Luso-Moçambican Summit

Meanwhile, the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, receives today, Thursday (01), at 10:00 am, at the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, the Prime Minister of Portugal, António Costa.

A note from the Presidency of the Republic points out that the Portuguese Prime Minister’s visit to the country has as its highest point the participation in the 5th Bilateral Summit, which will take place under the theme: “Mozambique-Portugal: Strengthening the Strategic Partnership Towards Sustainable Development.

During the event, the leaders will exchange views on the political, economic and social situation of the two countries and their regions (SADC and the European Union), as well as review current international issues and of mutual interest, in the framework of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries and the United Nations, the document said.

According to the note, the two leaders will also witness the signing of legal instruments of bilateral cooperation and proceed with the opening of the Business Forum.
The Portuguese Prime Minister made his first visit to the country in 2018, having, on that occasion, participated in the Third Bilateral Summit.

PM português em Maputo para participar na V Cimeira Luso-Moçambicana

Entretanto, o Presidente da República, Filipe Nyusi, recebe hoje, quinta-feira (01), pelas 10:00 horas, no Gabinete da Presidência da República, o Primeiro-Ministro da República portuguesa, António Costa.

Uma nota da Presidência da República aponta que a visita do Primeiro-Ministro português ao país tem como ponto mais alto a participação na 5.ª Cimeira Bilateral, que irá decorrer sob o lema: “Moçambique-Portugal: Fortalecendo a Parceria Estratégica Rumo ao Desenvolvimento Sustentável”.

Durante o evento, os governantes vão trocar impressões sobre a situação política, económica e social dos dois países e das respectivas regiões (SADC e União Europeia), bem como passar em revista assuntos da actualidade internacional e de interesse mútuo, no quadro da Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa e das Nações Unidas, refere o documento.

De acordo com a nota, os dois dirigentes vão igualmente testemunhar a assinatura de instrumentos jurídicos de cooperação bilateral e proceder à abertura do Fórum de Negócios.
O Primeiro-Ministro português realizou a sua primeira visita ao país em 2018, tendo, nessa ocasião, participado na Terceira Cimeira Bilateral.

CTA Governing Council reviews Economic Acceleration Package

The meeting aims, essentially, to analyze the measures in order to identify the best mechanisms for their effective implementation, so that the benefit to the companies, population and economy in general arrive as soon as possible.

With this action, the CTA intends to actively contribute to the implementation of the measures and will be by the side of the Government to collaborate and support in all ways within the Public-Private Dialogue.

Remember that the consultation work developed by CTA, due to the successive shocks that have affected the business sector, resulted in 22 measures that were part of what was called the proposed Business Recovery Plan.

This proposal was presented at the XVII Annual Conference of the Private Sector (CASP) that took place last March, and a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in which the Government committed itself to analyze and approve the measures within six months.

Five months later, the President of the Republic announced measures to stimulate the economy, 11 of which had been proposed by the private sector.

Conselho Directivo da CTA analisa Pacote de Medidas de Aceleração Económica

O encontro visa, essencialmente, analisar as medidas com o fim de identificar os melhores mecanismos para sua implementação efectiva, de modo que o benefício às empresas, população e economia no geral chegue o mais rápido possível.

Com esta acção, a CTA pretende contribuir de forma activa para a implementação das medidas e estará ao lado do Governo para colaborar e apoiar de todas as formas no âmbito do Diálogo Público-Privado.

Recordar que, do trabalho de auscultação desenvolvido pela CTA, devido aos sucessivos choques que afectaram o sector empresarial, resultou em 22 medidas que fizeram parte do que foi designado por proposta de Plano para a Recuperação Empresarial.

Esta proposta, foi apresentada na XVII Conferência Anual do Sector Privado (CASP) que teve lugar em Março último, e foi assinado um Memorando de Entendimento no qual o Governo se comprometia a analisar e aprovar as medidas em seis meses.

Volvidos cinco meses, o Presidente da República anunciou medidas de estímulo à economia, dentre as quais, 11 tinham sido propostas pelo sector privado.

Nampula: Brazilian investors seek opportunities in agribusiness sector

In this context, the statement also said, Brazilian investors have expressed interest in creating partnerships with local entrepreneurs operating in the sector.

Specifically, the investors intend to invest in poultry farming, livestock, fish farming, rice production, soybeans, corn, sunflower and vegetables. Besides investing, they also intend to provide training and transfer agricultural technology.

The focus is the locality of Naguema, district of Mussuril, given the agro-ecological potential and the opportunities that the locality offers in this sector, considered one of the most promising.
