Access Bank strengthens commitment to female leadership at high-profile event

Access Bank Mozambique held a debate to boost female leadership, bringing together more than 50 women from various sectors. The event aimed to discuss the theme “What women who reach the top in the leadership of large companies do differently” and was attended by renowned professionals, including Glayds Gande, senior manager of business consulting at Ernst & Young and vice-president of New Faces New Voices (NFNV); Clara Neves, executive director of Be Bold; Carmen Mogne, acting director of Enterprise Business Support (EBS) and project management office (PMO); and Sheila Langa, head of Finance, Tax, Costs and Regulatory Reporting at Access Bank Mozambique.

During the event, the speakers shared their experiences and insights into the importance of female leadership in today’s society. They highlighted the challenges faced by women in the corporate environment, such as the lack of representation, gender stereotypes and professional barriers. They also emphasized the need for women to support each other and to persist in their quest for leadership positions.

Carmen Mogne, one of the speakers, said: “Women’s journey to leadership positions can be challenging, but it is essential to persist and never give up on your goals. I encourage all women to believe in their potential, raise their voices and support each other to inspire the next generations of women.”

The managing director of Access Bank Mozambique, Marco Abalroado, highlighted the bank’s commitment to diversity and the inclusion of women in leadership positions. He said: “Initiatives like these are a reflection of our commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion. We recognize the value of women in leadership and are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse environment.”

Access Bank reiterated its commitment to promoting actions linked to female empowerment. This initiative is part of the financial institution’s commitment to supporting projects for the inclusion of women in society and in business. The bank is committed to continuing to promote diversity and the inclusion of women in leadership positions, contributing to a fairer and more equitable business environment.
