Acesso à tecnologia é a fonte de riqueza no sector da agro-pecuária

Por isso, entendem, que os tomadores de decisão devem ser mais proactivos na busca e na disponibilização de informação tecnológica, segundo escreve O País.

De acordo com os oradores da Mozgrow, Moçambique precisa de investir na procura e disponibilização da informação relevante para o sector agro-pecuário, porque o mundo está em constante actualização de conhecimentos inerentes à produção. Não sendo Moçambique um caso à parte, a ciência deve ser usada a favor dos produtores.

A feira de agro-negócios Mozgrow decorreu de quarta à quinta-feira e, nos dois dias de actividade, a Arena 3D, na KaTembe, acolheu o evento.

The event was attended by local dignitaries including the Deputy Minister of Energy, Antonio Saide, the PCA of ARENE (Energy Regulatory Authority), Paulo Graça, the General Manager of Vodafone M-Pesa Mozambique, Tawanda Gota and several other guests.

On the occasion, Emidio Amadebai, General Manager of ENGIE Energy Access Mozambique highlighted ”we managed to reach this milestone of 100,000 faster than any other player in the sector.”

Amadebai highlighted the important role of partnership with organizations such as Vodafone M-Pesa M-Pesa Mozambique, FUNAE, FAZER/GIZ, BRILHO/SNV, and many more, which have helped in the company’s success in Mozambique so far.

O evento contou com a presença de dignitários locais, incluindo o Vice-Ministro da Energia, Antonio Saide, o PCA da ARENE (Autoridade Reguladora de Energia), Paulo Graça, o Director Geral da Vodafone M-Pesa Moçambique, Tawanda Gota e vários outros convidados.

Na ocasião, Emidio Amadebai, Director-Geral da ENGIE Energy Access Moçambique destacou “conseguimos atingir esse marco de 100.000 mais rápido do que qualquer outro player do sector.”

Amadebai destacou o importante papel da parceria com organizações como a Vodafone M-Pesa M-Pesa Moçambique, FUNAE, FAZER/GIZ, BRILHO/SNV, e muitos mais, que têm ajudado no sucesso da empresa em Moçambique até o momento.

Mozgrow: Mozambique should invest in technological development

As part of the third panel, which had as theme “local dynamics of agribusiness development”, the administrator of Marracuene, Shafee Sidat, sold the potentialities of his district, as well as addressed the challenges they have.

Shafee Sidat, said that the district he heads is encouraging the creation of cooperatives, as a way to allow farmers to access the support that the district government has made available.

With enormous potential in agriculture, especially in rice and vegetable production, Marracuene is tending to take significant steps with a view to improving agribusiness.

“A company is already under construction that will absorb all the farmers’ production. Everything indicates that this factory unit may start operating next December,” assures Sidat, who also explained that this factory will not only absorb the production, but will also process and place it in the national and international market.

FUNDASO CEO defends policies favorable to investments

Daniel David, in his intervention recalled the role of each stakeholder in the Mozgrow fair, for the promotion of agribusiness.

“Many times, the concept of ‘centralization’ has dominated, only, in the role of the Government, as if the Government had to produce. The entrepreneurs are the ones who have to produce. The Government has to facilitate. The Government has to help, creating policies that favor businessmen’s investment,” defends FUNDASO’s CEO.

For Daniel David, by joining Mozgrow, businessmen send a message of readiness to continue competing and innovating, even in the face of adversity.

A set of reforms is underway to industrialize the country

Ludovina Bernardo, revealed that the Executive is aware of the importance of a strong industry to reduce dependence. Speaking to the television station STV during the opening of the fair, the governor pointed to England as an example, which stopped being a mere exporter of raw materials to become an industrially advanced country.

“To achieve such a design, it has set in motion a series of legislation to protect and support domestic industries from foreign competition and, above all, for the improvement of the business environment as a major factor,” said Ludovina Bernardo.

The deputy minister explains that in the context of our country, the path “for industrialization is called the National Industrialize Mozambique Program, which aims to give focus to inclusive rural development” through expanding market opportunities for agricultural producers.

“Equally, the program aims to diversify the country’s economic structure, improve the trade balance through imports and adding value to domestic products, transformed into differentiated products of high value,” she added.

The governor recognizes that the industry needs international standard infrastructure, bets on local content, the grouping of industries and the betting on laboratories for the advancement of agribusiness in the country.

7th Gas & Energy Summit and Exhibition

National and international industry leaders will be gathered in the country’s capital to discuss policies, project developments and the energy transition with the Government of Mozambique, IOCs and NOCs.

The event will also promote content development, with a high visibility international conference and exhibition that boosts SME development and entrepreneurship in the country.

The Summit will serve as a platform for knowledge exchange and technology transfer for the Mozambican energy value chain.

Speaking about the event, the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, said that he has been following all the editions, and that this summit takes place at a crucial moment for the implementation of gas mega-projects in Mozambique.

Nyusi also revealed that the 7th Mozambican Gas and Energy Summit and Exhibition reflects an important development and investment attraction for Mozambique.

The 7th Gas & Energy Summit and Exhibition of Mozambique, will feature 16 speakers, with emphasis on Carlos Zacarias, Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Luisa Diogo, of Absa Bank Mozambique and former Prime Minister, Estevão Pale, President & CEO of ENH, Natalia Camba, head of Local Content in INP.

Mozgrow: Moçambique deve apostar no desenvolvimento tecnologico

Integrando no terceiro painel, que tinha como tema “as dinâmicas locais do desenvolvimento do agro-negócio”, o administrador de Marracuene, Shafee Sidat, vendeu as potencialidades do seu distrito, assim como abordou os desafios que têm.

Shafee Sidat, disse que o distrito que dirige está a incentivar a criação de cooperativas, como forma de permitir que os agricultores tenham acesso ao apoio que o Governo distrital tem disponibilizado.

Com um enorme potencial na agricultura, sobretudo na produção de arroz e hortícolas, Marracuene tende a dar passos significativos, tendo em vista o melhoramento do agro-negócio.

“Já está em construção uma empresa que irá absorver toda a produção dos agricultores. Tudo indica que esta unidade fabril poderá entrar em funcionamento em Dezembro próximo”, garante Sidat, que também explicou que essa fábrica não só irá absorver a produção, como também irá processar e colocar no mercado nacional e internacional.
