O Ministério dos Recursos Minerais e Energia refere que a pedra preciosa em referência é considerada uma das melhores gemas até aqui extraídas, tendo sido baptizada com o nome de Estrela de Fura.
O rubi Estrela de Fura será colocado em leilão privado no próximo mês, estando neste momento em exibição em Dubai.
Explica ainda o ministério que, após a venda, e nos termos previstos na lei, o Governo irá apurar o Imposto sobre a Produção correspondente.
Speaking at the launch of Tourism Week in celebration of World Tourism Day and the launch of the 8th edition of the International Tourism Fair – FIKANI, the Vice President of the CTA, Vasco Manhiça, said that this is the time to exalt the resilience that this sector showed during this dark period whose reflection was the decrease in guests by 45% in 2020 compared to 2019, and the decrease in its level of contribution in the Gross Domestic Product to 1.3% in 2020 compared to 1.6% in 2019.
“We are pleased to note that the sector is currently showing signs of recovery, as is the case with other economic sectors, and there are high expectations that the Package of Economic Acceleration Measures, announced by the Government, will further reinvigorate this trend,” said Vasco Manhiça.
According to the press conference, Manhiça also referred that the FIKANI should be the mirror of the Mozambican tourism product and an opportunity for the private sector in particular, to demonstrate all the potentialities, the tourism packages and services available to the market.
“This Fair could not be held at a better time, as we believe it will help the sector to position itself in terms of tourism products and the companies that participate in it will be better exposed to the regional and international market,” he stressed.
Falando no lançamento da Semana do Turismo em celebração do Dia Mundial do Turismo e o lançamento da 8ª edição da Feira Internacional do Turismo – FIKANI, o Vice-presidente da CTA, Vasco Manhiça, referiu que este é o momento de se exaltar a resiliência que este sector demostrou durante esse período tenebroso cujo reflexo foi a diminuição de hóspedes em 45% em 2020 face a 2019, e o decréscimo do seu nível de contribuição no Produto Interno Bruto para 1,3% em 2020 comparativamente a 1,6% em 2019.
“Apraz-nos notar que actualmente, o sector exibe sinais de recuperação, à semelhança do que sucede com os restantes sectores económicos, havendo elevadas expectativas que o Pacote de Medidas de Aceleração Económica, anunciado pelo Governo, venha revigorar ainda mais esta tendência”, salientou Vasco Manhiça.
Segundo aponta a noita de imprensa, Manhiça referiu ainda que, o FIKANI deverá ser o espelho do produto turístico moçambicano e uma oportunidade para o sector privado em particular, demonstrar todas as potencialidades, os pacotes turísticos e serviços à disposição do mercado.
“Esta Feira não podia ser realizada em melhor momento, pois acreditamos que ajudará o sector a se posicionar em termos de produtos turísticos e as empresas que nela participarem melhor estarão expostas ao mercado regional e internacional”, frisou.
The company’s Chairman of the Board (PCA), Arsénio Mabote, explains that revenues were influenced by high oil prices in the international market, despite reduced natural gas sales in the year under review.
“This year was characterized by a significant rise in fuel prices as a result of oil supply restrictions in the international market, which positively impacted our revenues,” says the PCA in a message from the Board of Directors, in a clear mention, according to the “Carta de Moçambique”, of the impact of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine that has lasted for seven months with no end in sight.
This revenue resulted from the production and sale of 174.27 Million Gigajoules (MJG) of Natural Gas and Condensate, a reduction from the 179.35 MJG sold in the 2021 economic year.
As in previous reports, CMH’s BCP states that one of the main challenges is the availability of proven reserves, to ensure the supply of gas under the signed contracts.
“During this year we have been investing in additional boreholes and gas compression projects to recover more gas from the Pande and Temane reservoirs in order to increase the respective volumes to be supplied, so as to cover the total amount contracted, thus mitigating the deficit of reserves”, states CMH’s PCA in its annual report.
Regarding taxes and contributions, CMH paid a total amount of 12 million USD to the State, of which 89% represent corporate income tax (IRPC), 9% personal income tax (IRPS) and 2% social security contributions (INSS).
O Presidente do Conselho Administrativo (PCA) da empresa, Arsénio Mabote, explica que as receitas foram influenciadas por altos preços de petróleo no mercado internacional, apesar de as vendas de gás natural, no ano em análise, terem reduzido.
“Este ano foi caracterizado por uma subida significativa dos preços dos combustíveis como resultado de restrições do fornecimento de petróleo no mercado internacional, o que impactou positivamente nas nossas receitas”, afirma o PCA em mensagem do Conselho de Administração, numa clara menção, segundo a “Carta de Moçambique”, ao impacto do conflito entre a Rússia e a Ucrânia que dura há sete meses e sem fim à vista.
Essa receita resultou da produção e venda de 174.27 Milhões de Gigajoules (MJG) de Gás Natural e Condensado, uma redução em relação aos 179.35 MJG vendidos no ano económico de 2021.
Tal como nos relatórios anteriores, o PCA da CMH refere que um dos principais desafios é a disponibilidade de reservas provadas, para assegurar o fornecimento de gás ao abrigo dos contratos assinados.
“Durante este exercício temos vindo a investir em furos adicionais e projectos de compressão de gás, para recuperar mais gás dos reservatórios de Pande e de Temane, a fim de aumentar os respectivos volumes a serem fornecidos, por forma a cobrir a quantidade total contratada, mitigando, deste modo, o défice de reservas”, afirma o PCA da CMH em Relatório anual.
Relativamente aos impostos e contribuições, a CMH pagou um montante total de 12 milhões de USD ao Estado, dos quais 89% representam imposto sobre o rendimento de pessoas colectivas (IRPC), 9% impostos sobre rendimentos de pessoas singulares (IRPS) e 2% contribuições destinadas à segurança social (INSS).
Myrta Kaulard was speaking in the context of the first meeting held by the Ministry of Land and Environment, with the group of cooperation partners, as part of the preparations for Mozambique’s participation in the Twenty-seventh Conference of the Parties (COP27) to be held next November 6-18, in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
“Mozambique is a country that has experienced the most extreme natural disasters in Africa, but it also has huge natural resources, so it has a lot of opportunities for a just transition of renewable energy. It is a country that has a leading position in the whole climate issue,” appreciated the UN Resident Coordinator in Mozambique.
In turn, the Minister of Land and Environment, Ivete Maibaze, considered that Mozambique’s position at COP27 is aligned based on the areas of interest and in line with the regional positions.
Climate change financing, renewable energy and energy transition, reduction of emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, gender and climate change are some areas of interest highlighted by Ivete Maibaze.
Mozambique will participate in the event through a multisectoral delegation that in addition to public institutions, includes the sector, academia, civil society among other entities.
However, in practical terms, COP27 is the largest and most important conference on the planet’s climate, organized by the United Nations.
Myrta Kaulard falava no contexto da primeira reunião realizada pelo Ministério da Terra e Ambiente, com o grupo de parceiros de cooperação, no âmbito dos preparativos da participação de Moçambique na Vigésima Sétima Conferência das Partes (COP27) a decorrer de 6 a 18 de Novembro próximo, em Sharm el- Sheikh, no Egipto.
“Moçambique é um país que tem registado mais desastres naturais extremos em África, mas também tem recursos naturais enormes, por isso tem muitas oportunidades de uma transição justa de energias renováveis. É um país que tem uma posição de líder em todo o tema climático”, apreciou a Coordenadora Residente da ONU em Moçambique.
Por sua vez, a Ministra da Terra e Ambiente, Ivete Maibaze, considerou que a posição de Moçambique na COP27 está alinhada com base nas áreas de interesse e em conformidade com as posições regionais.
O financiamento no âmbito das mudanças climáticas, energias renováveis e transição energética, redução de emissões por desmatamento e degradação florestal, género e mudanças climáticas são algumas áreas de interesses destacadas por Ivete Maibaze.
Moçambique vai participar no evento através de uma delegação multissectorial que para além das instituições públicas, integra o sector, academia, sociedade civil entre outras entidades.
Contudo, em termos práticos, a COP27 é a maior e mais importante conferência sobre o clima do planeta, organizada pela Organização das Nações Unidas.

Fáusio Mussá, who was speaking recently, in the virtual session of the Economic Briefing, showed concern with the fall of international reserves, which has resulted in the reduction of months of imports coverage to about 4.7 months, which may have an impact on the evolution of the Metical.
Held regularly by Standard Bank, the Economic Briefing is an event that aims to guide its clients, in particular, and the market, in general, in decision making, by sharing the main trends of the national economy.
Segundo o economista-chefe do banco, Fáusio Mussá, este cenário deve-se a uma série de choques, internos e externos, a que a economia nacional tem sido exposta, com destaque para o impacto das mudanças climáticas sobre o preço dos alimentos e da guerra na Ucrânia sobre o preço dos combustíveis, com efeito sobre os restantes preços na economia.
Para responder a estas ameaças, explica, o Governo anunciou, por exemplo, a intenção de subsidiar o transporte, assim como uma componente de importação de combustíveis para garantir uma certa estabilidade dos preços, “sobretudo porque as camadas mais vulneráveis da nossa sociedade são as que mais se ressentem do impacto do aumento do preço dos combustíveis”.
“Neste cenário, a nossa expectativa é que o Banco de Moçambique mantenha a taxa de juro de referência da política monetária (MIMO) até ao fim do ano no actual nível de 15,25%, mas não há garantias de que tal venha a suceder, sobretudo se houver alguma surpresa que se traduza numa inflação mais elevada do que a prevista”, sublinhou.
Fáusio Mussá, que falava recentemente, na sessão virtual do Economic Briefing, mostrou-se preocupado com a queda das reservas internacionais, que tem resultado na redução dos meses de cobertura de importações para cerca de 4,7 meses, o que pode ter um impacto na evolução do Metical.

Speaking at the event’s launch, the governor mentioned that this year’s edition of FIKANI 2022 is the first after a prolonged period that paralyzed the tourism industry internationally. Therefore, it should be the biggest bet for the exhibition of national potentialities and the resumption of the sector with vigor.
In this regard, Materula said that the challenge for all is to stimulate and engage the public-private sectors and rural communities to enter into partnerships to exploit the tourism opportunities of the region as a destination for the benefit of all.
FIKANI was launched in 2013, and is organized in a joint partnership between the Government of Mozambique and the private sector (Mozambican Federation of Tourism and Hospitality). It constitutes the highest and most prestigious business and meeting point between national tourism companies and institutions with their counterparts from the Southern region and other parts of the world.
This year, it will have 150 stands and 5000 visitors, and is expected to receive local and international tour operators and buyers from the region.
The launch of FIKANI Mozambique comes at the start of World Tourism Week, which is being held under the slogan: “Rethinking Tourism”. The celebrations will peak on September 27.
